Citation Bar – FTO – Field Training Officer Citation Bar

This FTO – Field Training Officer Bar is extremely durable and meant to stand up to the rigors of public safety work and inclement weather conditions. The citation bar is 1-3/4 inch long x 5/16 inches high, with double, extra-long, lapel pin posts.  Each post is extended in length in order to ensure that the posts can be secured properly on a leather citation bar badge holder.  The posts are long enough to clear the width of the leather and then have enough length for a lapel pin back to grasp the post.

The Field Training Officer’s Citation Bar is worn as a billet bar or also known as an indicator citation bar.  It signifies that the officer that is wearing the FTO Bar is a Field Training Officer.  A Field Training Officer is a specially trained officer that is responsible for getting rookie or new officers acclimated to the field or roadwork.

Their responsibilities include training the new officer the departmental rules and regulations, acclimate the officer to their new environments, etc.
