What Are Soft Enamel Pins?

Soft Enamel Pins
Most of the lapel pins you see that are being worn today are the Soft Enamel type of lapel pin. Soft enamel lapel pins offer many of the same benefits as of cloisonné. They are popular due to their textured surface and great value. They are one of our most popular choices for custom lapel pins because it offers a great looking product for a price slightly less than the cloisonné lapel pin process or imitation enamel lapel pins. Soft enamel lapel pins are considered the least expensive pin but still they can provide you a good quality pin. Custom soft enamel pins are great for most pin needs and are very suitable for schools, non-profit, promotional, trading pins, etc.
In creating this style of pin, a mold is die struck and enamel colors are filled in the recessed areas one at a time by hand. Each soft enamel pin is then fired at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. An optional epoxy coating can be applied as a preventive measure to keep the colors from fading and cracking. This keeps your lapel pins looking their best for years to come. Enamel lapel pins can be gold, silver or nickel plated. Others add a clear epoxy dome for long-lasting durability and a shiny, finished look. Soft enamel pins are rugged, versatile and affordable.
Photo etched is also possible to integrate with the soft enamel process. This is made from a thinner metal, 0.8mm, plate that is suitable for etching; these pins offer the advantages of enamel colors with the affordability that many budgets require. The soft enamel process is built around the photo dome process, to give the lapel pin a truly unique look while still maintaining the jewelry like quality.
